Sundown today marks the beginning of this year's eight day and eight night Hanukkah celebration. This Festival of Lights is a dedication to the miracle of oil and honors one of the most important times in Jewish history. Stay tuned for more of this story...
Being the first night of Hanukkah, blessings will be said with the lighting of the first candle on the menorah. BTW, a menorah is a candlestick typically with nine candles, one candle for each of the eight nights of Hanukkah and one center candle as a servant to light the others.
Check back throughout these eight days of Hanukkah for more of the story, info on traditional foods and how to play the dreidel game.
