I figured it out early on. It was the first time I saw Dad in a blond wig, tight sweater, mini skirt and black fishnet stockings that I realized (maybe hoped a little) Halloween wasn't just for us kids. No sireeee! So well did he pull off this venture into cross-dressing that even Grandma uttered to the strange, un-costumed "gal" standing there with his back to her, "Where's Lyle tonight?" "Duh Grandma!" we tittered while sweating behind our Muenster-family plastic masks. If I'd known better, I'd probably been a little more scared over the whole thing! Anyway, by the time the rest of the party-goer's arrived in their late-60's, politically-charged costumes that we didn't quite understand, we were out the door for an evening of trick-or-treating. Alone. Just us and a sugar-high. No bored, shivering parents (dressed in short skirts and heels) trying to keep up as we ran from house-to-house, block-to-block-to-block. Oh yeah. Good times!
So. We're all grown up now. And if memories of dad, a blond wig, and fishnet stockings haunt you, too, try these frighteningly delicious cocktails this All Hallow's Eve. And maybe on Devil's Night, too. You know. Just for good measure.

"So. Just when is this Devil's Night?" you ask. Go to the Urban Girl's Almanac front page and check the calendar for the answer.

Can't say I ever remember my Dad donning a blond wig, but I do recall a photo of him back in the 70 dressed as Mark Anthony... Regardless, I've really enjoyed your fun party drink ideas - definately in the mood for the Halloween holiday! Great ideas - keep them up.
